Just got a 2010 GS and I can tell you this stereo is the first thing I will be replacing. In my 2004 Z06 I had a killer setup but I am looking for pics of amp and subs setup in a C6 coupe. Sorry Convert will not work although if you like post on always like see a good system.
I have a JL Stealthbox along with all new gear in mine. Pulled out bose and installed all JL speakers front and rear with a Kenwood H/U controlling everything. Sounds great. The Stealthbox is a really nice piece that comes with JL R&D and quality. Its lightweight and has the perfect amount of interior volume w/o taking up to much room. A 300/2v2 powers it.I like it alot.
Old one is full size 10" sub and HiFonics 5-channel amp. Current version is shallow 12" sub and class-D Kenwood 5-channel amp. Glass top is easily stored with both.
Prior setup (currently sitting in my house without amp or sub):
Current setup (one of these days I'll be adding three dowel rods above the amp to act as a makeshift luggage rack).
I think the stealthbox is a good idea. I decided the best way is to have the subs all the way to the back facing up and slightly forward. I ended up with this. Though this way you can only have 10 inch woofers and still store your roof.
Mine is completely stealth - 8" in the left side cubby. Since these pictures I added another 3/4 inch MDF plate that I cut so it is just a frame giving the "Box" a bit more depth and giving me just a touch more low end. I used an old audiophile trick by putting in a little Polyfill to add some depth to the sound. Sounds great, and literally takes up no space. I also made a cover for it with matching carpeting, so when you look in the hatch area, you have no idea anything is different.
My amp is mounted in the hatch area with a cover over it like slief, only mine has punched(perforated) metal opening for some air circulation on top. I am going to get an Alpine PDX amp and pull the Blose out and put it in there.
Mark, how do you like that shallow sub? Does it hit like a regular one? I'm considering an enclosure from SubThump and it comes with the shallow sub.
My shallow 12" sounds just as good if not better than the 'normal' 10" that I had, but it is getting 350wRMS compared to only 200wRMS that the 10" had.

I saw your car at Freedom Chevrolet not too long ago when I took my GS to get serviced. Who did your install? I'm looking for someone I can trust in SA to do something a bit less radical in the near future.
Beware of freedom chevy as they messed my car up 2 different times. As for my install, it was done at custom sounds on san pedro. They did a nice job, though they werent always very professional. It wasnt a bad experience or anything either, id consider using them again. Not sure if there is anyone else who would be better to deal with.

well I do all of the service on my car myself. The only thing I let them do was change out a faulty TPM that went bad on day 1 of ownership.
I'm curious.... what did they mess up on your car?
The service advisor was really cool, and bragged about how Freedom Chevy sponsors the local Corvette Club .
Thanks again for responding.
I too have a new GS. I just finished the RAAMat yesterday and have to body fill the glassed encloser today so hopefully I'll have a pic up by days end. Of course, that will depend on this ice storm and if I have power still.
MTX sound system with 2 12" subs, 2 caps, and 2 amps. Around 10,000 Watts of power! It is very loud and noticeable. The system sets off many car alarms.
I dont know how to post pictures in this reply but here are the links to look at my sound system
