Default c5 replacement speakers

just curious what you all used and were happy with. im planning on putting a component system in the front. i found a boston accoustic set for $150 in crutchfield. and no clue what to use in the back. any suggestions? anyone have a component system they are happy with. id like to spend around $150 and maybe $100 for the rear. thanks

BA, Polk, Infinity are all good budget choices. I'm running Infinity Kappa components in the front and nothing in the rear.

A pillar is definitely the best place to do it, although I'm not sure if Infinity's tweeters would fit because they're larger than most. I installed mine next to the woofers in the doors because it was easier and didn't require any custom fabrication. They came with pivoting mounts so I was at least able to aim them upwards toward the listener's ears.

The Infinity Kappa tweeters are way to large for the A pillar. Here is what I WAS working on. Going to leave them in the door handle pull.

I put my Focal tweeters in the A pillars, and love it!! I have a place here in St.Louis that will do it for about half of what the other place on the forum is doing them for. PM if you want the info.

Tweeters in the pillars must face each other, not the driver or passenger, an absolute must if you are going to the trouble to have this done.......

I have two sets of pillars on the way to the shop Seth mentioned above, mine and for a C5, I will post up a review and contact info once I get them back and am happy with them them, which I am sure I will be.

-------------------

Get the best front speakers you can, send them plenty of power from a good amp and do not bother with rears if you want the best sound for your investment......

But, if you just have to have rears, I have some great low cost ones in stock for those that do, I also have expensive ones and some that were damaged in shipment, repaired by the manf and are on sale for a great price......

As for fronts, if you have not bought them yet, I have the best prices on very fine speakers around, just for my fellow Vette owners, really, send me a PM or give me a call if interested.

Thanks
Rick
