Default aftermarket nav help

Hey everybody, just bought my first vette. couldnt be happier. 08 arctic white 6 speed manual. love it so far, but have some questions that i think might be related to the aftermarket nav that was installed at some point. Its a kenwood nav, dvd, etc. Two issues i'm having:

1) after i turn the car off there is a clicking sound (maybe 5 quick clicks) coming from somewhere behind the radio. Read somewhere that this might be a PAL or something to do with aftermarket audio but don't know anything about it.

2) when i put the car in accessory mode, the audio system doesnt work. It also just shuts off when i turn the car off and doesnt stay on until a door is opened. The windows work, so it appears its not a problem with the acc mode itself, but maybe with the way the aftermarket audio system was wired in.

anybody know if this stuff is normal? none of it affects the rest of the car, and i still absolutely love the thing like my first born son, but also the type of guy who likes everything to work the way its supposed to

Not normal. I would guess somebody did not use the correct wire harness when they did the install. It's very easy to work on the stereo's in these cars. You can take it out and check the wire harness adapter and hopefully there are no cut wires.

Oh, and congrats on getting a great car!!

Does the car ever beep at you or play warning chimes?

If not, whoever installed the radio probably used a normal switched wire to trigger the radio instead of getting an aftermarket adapter.

If you have beeps, I thought all of the interface units available for C6 had RAP, something may be wired wrong.

nope. none of that. all i get is the clicking noise right before i start, and right after i turn off. definitely seems likes its coming from behind the head unit.

Yep, I'll bet someone just bypassed the factory harness completely and wired the new HU directly to the fuse box and used the ignition fuse or similar.
