This is a multipurpose thread. I purchased a double din bezel from a forum member lisoundsvette (aka John) and I purchased a complete Eclipse AVN62D from sickguy (aka Gabe). I had a poineer single din unit in my car, it was a Pioneer Dax-p9 or something like that. The CD player didnt work correctly.
Anyway this is my first double din install I received brackets from denis at double D mods and I need to know what I need to do to mount this thing correctly and make it look clean. What do I need to cut and move and how? Help please. The next big chore will be wiring this thing up.
obviously the bezel isnt supposed to be like that. this is where I need to know what to do please.
" removed the upper radio support and used it to
support the new head unit.
now cut the rivets, removed the support,
turned it upside down and fastened it back with sheet metal screws. It will
be just the right height to support your new head unit. You will also have
to remove a plastic clip that is located behind the radio in the upper right
corner on the duct. You don't need it and it will interfer with the new head
unit going back far enough to allign with the surround. The lower support
was removed and discarded."
temporarilly secure the radio in place. then measure the amount needed to lower the hvac this may take a few attempts.
i use a sharpie maker to referance each stage
ok so I have the DD Unit mounted up now comes the daunting task of tracing all the RCA plugs from my 3 amplifires and pluging them in. To be honest, this is uncharted territory ffor me. I'm trying to put things back just as they came. my old head unit had a preamp equalizer specificaly designed for pioneer head units. though the pre amp equalizer says its universal it most definately is not. I think I need another pre amp EQ... Anyone?
