I am installing 2 new amps to run my system and getting rid of the mtx amp.
The first amp is a Nakamichi PA8001 which puts out 800w rms @ 2 ohms or 1000w rms @ 1ohms. I can't make up my mind which sub I want to do. I need to redo my box anyways. I liked the way my 10.52 boston pro sounded like. I am debating on either to do a 12.52 boston pro vs Solabaric S12L7 vs 2 Solabaric S8L7. Any ideas on how 2 8" would sound vs a 12" ? I don't like boomy, I like thight bass that hit your nerves:D.
The second amp is a Nakamichi PA2004 which I am gonna bridge and run it for my front speakers only. Call me CRAZY :), I have boston pro 6.53's in the fronts. The amp puts out 400w rms x 2 bridged per channel @ 4 ohms to run each door.
And later I want to get the Premier DEX-P9 Head unit down the road. Right now the rear speakers are powered by the head unit, if I get the DEX-P9, it has no built in amp so I will loose my rears.
Nice equipment. The boston sub will probably be the tightest. You may also want to look at JL w6.2, JL w7, IDmax subs. Forget 8" subs. Go with either 2 10s or 1 12. The 10s will be better from an output and tightness, the 12 will go deeper. Listen to them at dealers to see what type of bass sound is best for you.
