Jeeeze ... now I feel that I might not have enough sub in my coupe after I get this system together.
I installed a JL Audio 8" sub powered by a 5-channel Arc Audio XDi805 (240 watts RMS into the sub)
I've done some nice sounding installs with a single 8", but even with the small cabin, there is a pretty high noise floor to overcome, and 8"s are much less efficient at reproducing really low frequencies. It'll be hard to tell if it's enough for your taste until you have it installed.
That being said, I'm using a single 8" in a ported enclosure in my WRX wagon. It does pretty well, and I haven't really found the need to replace it.
To stop the dreaded baffling of the Sub in back - Take that vert panel out behind the waterfall and sell it to me please.. Charcoal (or black preferred).

I will try it with one 10" sub, and could always put it in or out, in which case it'd be nice to have the one storage bin ...
I had that pesky panel out yesterday trying to think of a way to fit a 10" sub in it with my Arc Audio 5.25"s. The 5.25' are a direct fit, the amp fits, pioneer HD rec fits, the 10 slim fits horizontal but will not breath or likely thump correctly without rattles. I'd be interested in your second box esp if passenger side.
Back to drawing board. Indeed - G/L to u as well. Keep us posted.

I'll keep you in mind if one sub is all I need.
Great idea for the sub, maybe in the center of the vert partition w/some reinforcement (but would the top still fold down?), maybe one of the 10" thin subs could fit there? The breathing might work fine? Hmmmm ... What would MarkCZ do?
There are several pre-made fiberglass boxes available for the rear tubs in C6. A shallow 10" will fit in all of them, and a 'normal' sized will fit in some. None currently available will allow a 'full sized' 10" to fit (bigger than 10w3).
Other than that, it's MDF
I'm actually on my way out to the garage right now to make a new box for my next setup

I got 2 of the fiberglass pods from VetteNuts (atchd), and was saying I might go with just one of them. He was stating another idea, attaching a shallow sub through the convertible partition, just like the rear speakers are mounted? Any thoughts Mark?
If you don't mind cutting a hole in it to mount the sub through, then attaching some sort of box to the back end of it, then sure, why not.
I never really paid much attention to the partition, so I have no idea what the back end of it looks like, or how sturdy it is, or how much room is back there.
Its pretty rigid, plastic and carpet, and you could hot-glue a big XTC foam baffle to seal it (or something more rigid)? But there isn't much space back there when the top is down, just thought it a decent idea from the previous poster ...
