Back Up Camera While Driving?

Can you wire your back up camera to where you can view it even driving forward?

yes as long as you have it wires to switched power and not to pos and neg on reverse lights

no it will come on when putting in reverse too when the reverse wire is connected

what I mean is most people will connect the power and ground to power and ground on the reverse lights
If you do this the camera will only have power when in reverse so no way you can turn it on while in motion

So if you connect to say the power and ground in radio harness(red and black) it will have power at all times. So when you select camera on the screen it will switch to the camera

I have two cameras on mine, front and back. Power is switched power from the ncm bus. I can select my front cam at will

Well I just went out and changed the power wire from the camera to the radio fuse. They had it ran to the reverse lamp fuse. Now the camera comes on when I want with the push of a button...

Will this shorten the cameras life since it will be powered all the time my radio is on? Also, I guess it was ok to run the power wire for the camera to the radio fuse? Thanks for any help...
