Elec interference
it does this only while initially touching the switch then the sound comes back.Something's not grounding properly i guess causing this staticky short I'll call it. Any ideas about this gremlin?
TIA Rob
If that's not it, could be just about anything. At one point in my '07 the entire dash would flash in sync with my turn signals, that was caused by a melted LED turn signal bulb that was causing voltage to flow wherever it could.
of course... i'll try again each time i use the car
(hey GM im testing the electrical circuit loading and resistance to atmospheric interference and stratospheric resistance for modulation for you)
(totally made up of course)
Should it repeat i'll make sure to watch the volt readout, although while testing earlier it didn't move really 13.9-14.0 idle, i activated the seat switch & volts stayed in that range and no static on the AM band.
So whatever it is seems to be intermittent at this time, and really unless it affects somthing else or spreads into a bigger elec prob im going to move on and just consider it a wonder of modern marvel

Thanks for your help
Rob.
update: used the car last nite and did notice the farther i got away from NYC where the radio signal is broadcast from the weaker the reception got and pressing the seat switch caused the sound to go dead for a second for each time pressed and no change on the volt gauge reading.
