POT troubles
2008 3LT No Nav + Kenwood DNX890HD + GMOS04 Harness
I have a problem adjusting the POT on the GMOS.
Chimes: Instructions say 'leave the key in the ignition". I don't know how to make the chimes work when ACC is not on. What I did was turn ACC on, opened the driver's door, adjusted the POT for the chimes, and then shut ACC off. That seems to work, although I'm not sure if it will remember this setting after a battery disconnect.
Audio Level Adjustment: Now the problem - The instructions say "start your vehicle", something I would prefer not to do during winter storage. So I push and hold the ACC button for several seconds which is supposed to simulate all systems on as if the vehicle was actualy running, except for no ignition & fuel. Headlights come on, climate control starts working, etc. I then turn up the volume to 75% of max, and try twiddling with the POT. There is no difference in audio volume whatsoever. Unfortunately, the max volume setting is quite low.
Now the question: Can the GMOS distinguish between ACC and engine running? Do I have to actually run the engine to adjust the audio level?
Interesting to note that if the Kenwood is off, there will be no chimes (and no clock).
Thanks,
M...
