Memorial Day Progress

my 1-line drawing:

The Sac City Corvette big 3 DOES work on a C6. You just need a C5 battery, which fits.... barely. Now you know.
The old battery coming out:

Parts:

Amp mounted. I used some big fender washers to compress against the carpet with the corner mounting holes on the amp. This way the pressure was off the bolts and I wouldn't have to make permanent modifications to the car:

The PAC adapter, and the head unit wiring harnesses turned into a single harness.

The amp wired and dressed:

The dash back together:

Later today I will get the door speakers in and put the battery back in and see if everything turns on. Which would be awesome!
The remaining task will be to get the sub in the sub box and test that. Then reassemble the rest of the interior.

Audio sounds good, but needs to be tuned, seems like something is taking the bass out. Of course it could probably be because its set up for a sub and I haven't put the sub in yet.

The JL sub and the Alpine amp hit hard.
No dimming with the sub either, at least not that I can see. Night will be a better test.
Its like a dance club....
So awesome.

I think I may need to upgrade the alternator. Any thoughts on this?
Once I get the interior back together I will drive around and see what happens. It was 14.5 the other day, I wonder if its just the engine fan or if there is something else going on.
I can do your install half drunk and with my eyes closed, but I would NEVER put the dash back together without testing everything first

I put in a DC Power 270 Amp 13968-270-XP, and it works GREAT, but it is way overkill. Normal voltage is 14.8. At idle, AC running, all lights on, heated seats on red, and stereo cranked as high as it will go.... 14.7v

I put LED switchback bulbs in for my front signals. Several sets blew and one melted before I figured out that I was cooking them with too much voltage, so I had to splice in some resistors to drop the signal voltage down to 12v

All that being said, if you do put in a high output alternator, I highly recommend the DC Power. It puts out more juice at idle than the oem could at max output. One of these days I'm going to do some research to see if any of the custom laptop tuner programs can change the voltage setpoint, if it can I may just have to get one so I can drop mine down to 13ish.

Done! and with only 1 screw I don't know where it came from. Seems like a win to me.
