Default C6 factory amp

Okay. I finally started my stereo upgrade project this past week. To be honest I do not have a lot of time to devote right now to this, so I am doing a little bit every other day or so. I have a 2007 base vert with the non-bose system and no steering wheel controls. So far, I have the RP5-GM11 wiring harness set up in what I believe to be the correct way, but I am getting no sound from any speakers. I have been thinking about this today while at work, and based on some previous posts, I believe that my car may have a non-bose factory amp, and since I did not connect the remote wire to turn on the amp, I am not getting sound. So first question: Does every C6 have an amp? Second question: If it does, where the heck is it? In addition to this little problem, I am not finding the wires I need to tap into for my Maestro for steering wheel controls. I realize the PAC RP5 harness has SWC capability, but I like the idea of having two custom options for each button so I went with Maestro. When I first started planning this project, I was concerned about having to spend the money to replace the clockspring since my car did not have SWC. I pulled the airbag and thanks to people on this forum, determined that I had the 7-wire connector going to the clockspring which should mean I am pre-wired. I bought a new wheel, and have not installed it yet, but I am getting uneasy when the Maestro install guide lists wires at my car harness that are not there. I am hoping they have listed the wrong wires, but for Question three: Has anyone heard of a clockspring having the correct SWC wiring, but there not being wires actually at the stereo? Bonus question: Does anyone know the pin location on the car harness of the SWC input? Thanks in advance for any help! I am just trying to do a little troubleshooting beforehand to minimize complications during the limited time I have to spend actually doing the project.

The C6 radio schematics are HERE, most of what you'll find came out of an '07 manual

All C6 have an amp between radio and speakers, it is in the passenger footwell to the left of the fuse box.

Connect the blue/white amp trigger wire from your new HU to the wire at B3 of the RP5 24 pin plug, it will line up with a white wire on the oem 24 pin harness. This is required for your stock amp to power up

They may have been out of the non-SWC clockspring, or just decided it was cheaper to only have one since it would work in all cars, but then still installed the appropriate dash harness.

On the stock 24 pin plug, you're looking for a purple wire t A6 and a dark blue wire at A7. You need to apply +12vDC to A6, and A7 is the input wire to the SWC interface. Even if the clockspring had the required wires, they may not have put in the dash wiring harness with SWC wires A6 & A7.

Thanks for the reply. It was just a matter of connecting the blue/white remote wire. I honestly didn't think the non-bose cars had an amp so I never connected it. I definitely do not have the wires I need at the 24-pin connector at A6 and A7. My next challenge will be seeing if I can add them to my existing harness since it appears I have the wires at the clockspring. Thanks again for your help.

You don't really need to add them at A6 & A7, just run a 2-conductor speaker wire from the HU to base of steering column
