I have the infamous '05 nav system. Last fall the AM/FM reception all of a sudden went out. I have no AM stations at all and only two FM stations that only work when I am very close to the city. I know about bulletin 05-08-44-014A but I am questioning if it is related (I have not had the up date done). The CD works fine, the Nav works fine and the XM works, at least I get the preview station as I am not a current customer. Can this be an antenna issue?
Take out the rear vertical carpet wall to get at the antenna modules and check to see if anything came loose.
With the car running, you can also check the white wire at pin 1 of C1 for +12vDC
Hi Markcz,
I have read a number of great post by you on this issue. I put a Pioneer AVIC 8100 HU in my 2008 convertible a few years ago and it works well except for poor FM radio reception. I left the BOSE Amp in so I think the BOSE is sending power to the antenna module. I read through a number of posts talking about the diversity antenna and being a problem with aftermarket HU's. I located the antenna components in the rear hatch and checked the voltage going to the amplifier unit. With the car in accessory mode and the radio in FM mode I measured the following on connector x1:
Hey Frank, hopefully Mark chimes in and can help you out. I haven't seen him on the forum in a while though, but I have seen many of his posts and he has always been a big help and asset to the forum. I just wanted to ask you if you installed the head unit yourself. If so, there is a blue antenna wire that you should of connected that sends a signal to any amplified antenna your car may have. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase, but I just wanted to throw that out there in case it may help.

Hi TorchRedFred,
Thanks for the suggestion, I did see your other post. I did install it myself and pretty sure I connected the blue/white wire (I hope). It's probably time to pull the radio and double check.... ugh!

Like I mentioned in the other post:
Blue/white is for amp trigger
Blue (solid blue) is for antenna
