The Alpine head unit is worth the cost. I need to receive and install the parking brake / reverse bypass. The glass screen is very nice. The sound quality with flac files sounds amazing. Three 4 volt RCA pre-outs are strong.

can you not just ground the wire to the chassis?
I see the bypass you mention but what is different with this unit so it needs a bypass?
I have kenwood from 2007 that has **** the bed so I have been looking around but I do recall all I needed to do was ground the parking wire to chassis and the video played while in motion.
Man that looks really nice and great choice on head unit. I have not heard one yet that sounds as good as the Alpine in Double Din. Who did your dash bezel??

The Alpine is so nice. I look at it in awe every day.
I listened to several head units at an IASCA SQ competition.
The three must have units were the Alpine 957HD, Sony RSX-GS9, Clarion 807.
The ILX-207 is new this year.
So I took a calculated risk and it paid off.
The dash bezel was $225($25 coupon) from abt.com

On the Kenwood, you can ground the wire to the chassis.
On the Alpine, you need the bypass.
I tried, trust me.
I had a Kenwood previously.
You cannot get into the crossovers without the bypass.
So I ordered it.
Bypass came in today and finished the install all up.
Sounds great
Bought the HDMI->lightning adapter to play videos since DVD option is gone
This deck has so much going for it over the circa 2008 Kenwood DNX-5120 I had in there previously. I do think I am going to miss that rotary **** for volume control though.
