I have a 2007 Coup and have been giving a lot of thought to purchasing and installing the JL audio stealth box. After reading reviews, I discovered one person that claimed that after the install of the box, it caused his drivers side rear tire sensor to remain on. Has anyone else experienced such an issue?
Outstanding. Thanks for your reply. How does it sound? And any recommendation on an amp? I’m sure I will be purchasing the JL Audio Steakth Box but undecided about an amp.
The sub is a 10W1v3-2 which has a power handing rating of 300w @ 2 ohms. So you are going to want to get an amp that produces at least 250w x 1 @ 2 ohms. The sub can actually handle more. I am running 500w into my stealth box with no issues.
I wanted To run the Fosgate R500x1D but the local shop keeps pushing the JL Audio MX 300 because of its size. I’m so undecided my heads gonna explode.
The JL MX300/1 is their marine line of amps so they are water resistant. Not sure if that is a benefit to you or not. I am using JL’s RD line. Very good amp. Clean power. The Rockford Fosgate R500X1D is their “Prime” lineup which is their more budget friendly line of products. I think it is a decent amp, especially for the price. I have not run this amp myself in the real world (only experienced in an audio shop) so I can't speak to its performance. But Rockford tends to under rate their amps so it most likely produces more than 500w @ 2 ohms.
They recommended the MX because of its conceal ability. But I am thinking I would prefer to go with an exposed amp that is a proven dependable amp that will hit the lows over an amp that is concealed but leaving me disappointed.
