Default Firewire & grounding

I'm in thep rocess of installing my system and I have a couple of questions for any one who has put a system in a C5.

First, are there any holes into the interior around the battery? I need to run a power wire to the back.

Second, how well is the cage holding the radio grounded?

Thanks,
Scott

as for a fire wall hole... can't help ya.

as for grounding the radio, get a Metra or equivilant harness kit and wire up ground, power and memory to it. that will be more than ok.

I thought this was a digital video question at first :p:

There's a big grommet in the firewall just under the battery ... and the radio mounting frame is grounded to the frame as well. You shouldn't have any problems. I would also second the recommendation to get a wiring harness.

Long Day!!! :)

I am using the wiring harness, I've just found at times that factory grounds can cause noise because they are building in with a lot of other signals. I tend to run my gorund as close to the head unit as possible.

Thanks, I found the grommet under the battery. Where does it come into the passenger compartment?

Also, if I'm going to mount my amp to the back wall, what is the closest GOOD ground? I realize I will have to do some drilling for this one.

Thanks,
Scott

Wire will be in passenger footwell right side just above the fuse panel, watch for the wire to get tangled in the cable bundle. Most common approach is to drill and gromment a hole in either the center or side storage well and wheel wells, then attach directly to car chassis.
