Default Phone pairing issues

I just received an insurance replacement Android phone for one that went bad on me, and I am having hell trying to get it to pair correctly to my Kenwood DNN992 via Bluetooth. The phone part pairs just fine, but it won't connect to the audio. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never had this problem before. I've already followed all of the troubleshooting steps in the Kenwood owner's manual with no luck.

I think the first thing I'd try is rebooting the Kenwood buy pulling then reinstalling the fuse that powers it.

I finally managed to get it to pair. I ended up having to delete the phone from the radio, and the radio from the phone, rebooting the phone, and pairing/unpairing several times. It finally allowed me to select to set it as an audio device, but I don't know why or how. It just started working the way it's supposed to.
