Can anyone tell me the size of the bose factory amp under the passenger seat and the XM antenna under the waterfall?
I have a crazy thought and if it is not doable, please tell me.
So I recently installed a new head unit (Kenwood DDX-9904s) and steering wheel with audio and phone controls in my 2006 Vert. I love the sound with the stock speakers, but I want more out of it.
So this is what I am planning. I am going to go with Kenwood all the way around since I have great luck with Kenwood. So the front speakers I going with Kenwood XR-1700P and the rear speakers will be Kenwood KFC-139PS. I going with the Kenwood XR401-4 and I would want to put it in the factory Bose amp location. Last would be the subwoofer and I would like to use the Kenwood KSC-SW11 powered sub and place it in the factory XM antenna location.
So am I crazy or do you think that this would be doable?
the Bose amp is actually under the carpet in the passenger footwell. It is left of the fuse box. Ju,st reach under the glove box and pull the carpeted cover back to reveal it. I am in the process of doing a upgrade to my C6 Vert and have a similar amp. I did some rough measurements last weekend and the Bose amp around 7.5" x 4.5". I am not thinking my X801 amp will fit there. So, I ordered a JL MX 600/3 amp that is much slimmer than the Kenwood X801. I am also using JL C5-650 components in the doors and the JL Stealthbox 8" subs behind each seat next to the Waterfall. I will not be using the rear speakers. Before settling on an amplifier location, I am going to see if the JL MX amp will fit behind the waterfall. If I were using the SW11 and not needing a 5 channel amp, I would look at the KAC M3004 and mount it in the waterfall. Like this https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...waterfall.html
