I have the Bose upgraded audio in my 2013 GS. I upgraded my head unit to a Kenwood DNX995S last year. I think I have 8 speakers in the car. With that said, I am confused as to best way to amplify the Bose system? Is the best way to go, get two 4 channel amps and amplify the 8 speakers? do I have to upgrade the Bose speakers? Also, I don't know what the output RMS is for these Bose speakers... Does any here know what that spec is?
All C6's have a factory amplifier. If you want to go with an aftermarket amp, you are going to have to go with a complete aftermarket system including new speakers. The factory amps have built in crossovers specific to the C6's, or Bose, speaker system. There is not really much more you can get out of the factory speakers. If you are not happy with your system, best bet is to replace the door speakers with some good 6.5" components, add a nice subwoofer, and then an amp to power the doors and sub. That's as simple as it can get. And if done correctly, will blow away what you currently have.
The bose speakers can not handle more than the stock amplifier. Even though you replaced the head unit, you are still going through the stock bose amp. This should have given you a better sound than the stock head unit.
f you're looking for a better bass sound from the doors, add some dynamat.
If you're up for replacing speakers and adding amplifiers, then there are many ways you can go. Just let us know what is lacking to YOURr ears...
thanks, I'm going to do some research on this... I guess looking at replacing some speakers and match up the amp with those. I looked at the dynamat with a installer, never knew that existed, but sounded worthy of installing for better quality sound on the doors.
