Not much progress since I hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago. Took enough pain medicine to tackle 1 door last night. I ordered a real 10" midbass to replace the MBQuart that H was running before. It's another cheap enough to try situation. On paper. It looks promising.
It's been a while. I got bummed because my box didn't account for the removable top handles, so I scrapped it. My midrange didn't fit right, so I ended up putting coaxial 3.5". Still no amps or extra subs. I've been driving 1 or less miles per day since the pandemic started, so no real motivation to get finished. But, now after chiming in on a couple of threads, I think I got a little motivation. Going to figure out how to put my mids in, replace the dash tweeters, and add the amplifiers (not how, but where(. And, oh yeah, I picked up one of these:

I’ve got my system all planed out in my head. I really like making my own sub boxes too. I made one for my last C6. It was so bad that I was glad no one saw it. Like you, I’ll buy one too. There’s nothing more satisfying than building your own audio system. Half the fun is researching and choosing the parts. The C7 is a little challenging because of having to use the stock head unit. Good lord, at 64 I still love to build and enjoy a proper system.

I hear you. I've made boxes for all of my cars and some for friends and family. I made a sealed box, then a ported box for my C6. Sound was amazing. I have no good reason why my C7 is not finished, just a bunch of excuses (none good).
I picked up this box because it was a good deal and I know I can sell it if I change my mind. I actually did this same thing a few months ago. I've had the stealth box in my C6 before. It sounded good, but not what I was accustomed to. Hopefully I follow through this time I was in San Diego (8th floor hotel room) during that last earthquake. felt so helpless.

How do those timpanos sound? I saw them doing research too and liked them on paper but had never heard of them or seen a review of them.
I was a bit worried they were just a PA speaker, and wouldn't work out that great.
I was disappointed when they arrived. They use a very thin cone material. At the last minute, I ended up installing the mb quart 10's that I had in my C6.

Do you happen to have a pic of the PAC installed? Does it just plug in between factory plugs from factory amp? TIA
have not installed it yet. It goes in passenger's footwell area after the radio unit,, between it and factory amp. Unfortunately. You still need to leave the factory amp connected to the PAC device.
My , limited, understanding is that the PAC unit takes the audio signal before the Bose amp so that you have a clean signal to feed your amps. Is that correct?

Discus 10s? What are you crossing those at up top? I wasn't sure if those would work as midbass speakers.
Well, I need to design another rack. Ran into a deal on this box. I guess it's another way of having 3 x 10TW3 in the car. Lol. Probably will end up selling the single 10". The dual 10 box is a lot smaller than it seems in the JL audio pics.
At least they got the carpet color correct on the dual box.
Started up again. Doing Dynamat in the front now and going to start with the electronics. Got the PAC amp pro installed and will upgrade the mids, tweeters, and run all of the wiring to the rear cubby. Bose rear has an oversized frame, so have to drill new holes. Tiny neo magnet. Replacing with Kappa.
