I don't know much about modern stereo systems but I'd like to add a double din system to my base C6. I'd like built in navigation, a CD and of course a radio. Don't care about or want anything else. I will probably go with pioneer or kenwood. Can I get some suggestions on systems to look at? There are so many it gets confusing.
I would recommend a Kenwood. The models that start with a DNX are the ones you want to look at if you want navigation and CD player. The Kenwood DNX996XR is their top of the line model as of now and includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay but is currently $1099 on Crutchfield. The newest models currently end with the number 6. The DNX875S is another model that's just a little older and is on Amazon for about $590 from third party seller, but doesn't have wireless CarPlay. It has CarPlay through USB and wireless Android Auto.
Many try and save a few dollars and just buy a unit with CarPlay/Android Auto and don't pay extra for built in navigation. In this case you use your phones navigation though CarPlay and/or AA. If this is an option and you want CD player, look at the models that start with DDX like the DDX8906S or the slightly older DDX8905S.
If you can live with navigation through phone via wired CarPay and/or Android Auto, the DDX8905S is only $355 on Amazon. Crutchfield.com is great too, but they only carry the newest models. So if you are looking for a great deal on a left over model, you will have to get it else where.

Pretty much EVERY aftermarket HU has what you're looking for. You didn't mention if you wanted or even cared about adding amps or other gear later, so I'm assuming you just want something other than stock?
