Hello everyone! New member here. 1st post. I am becoming highly educated about the Corvette from reading all of ya"lls post! No automotive manual could hold a candle to the knowledge in these forums.
So< my first main problem is this, I bought a new android head unit to replace my factory nav unit. I followed great guides here to remove everything to prepare for the new install. But after learning I needed a different adapter than the one I had, I just left every thing out until the new adapter was received. well, driving to work one zero dark thirty morning, pitch black, raining, 75 mile an hour, AND MY FRIGGIN" HEADLIGHTS shut off. after calming myself from what could have been a terrible or worse inident, I drove it home since it was starting to get daylight. I put my nav unit and hvac control back in with all connectors and have not had a problem with them since!
I do want to change the head unit(and eventually all the speaker with new and improved wire runs, a dual 8 inch box in the back with a decent 5 channel amp to power it all) but don't want to have crazy stuff like no head lights again!!
any one have some of that excellent advice and guide that I see around here? much advanced thanks!!!
I have a 2007 base model
This is a known issue with the C6. Has nothing to do with the head unit install. Check the link Madsonp provided for recall information. Just an FYI, I believe it is only the low beams that go out. So in case of an emergency, you can put the high beams on.
Thanks I had known about the recall but hoped that this was not related to this since it has not happened in the year I have had this vehicle and that taking out head unit and HVAC controls and leaving them out was the only thing that had been done recently since it occured.

Doesn't necessarily mean the stereo work is what caused the lights to go out, could just be a coincidence, either way, you still want to check with your dealership to make sure the recall was addressed, if it was, then take it from there.
