I'm looking to replace the OEM Nav unit in my '11 Z06 with Bose. Before anyone recommends Kenwood, I want a Pioneer . I want CD, Apple Carplay & dual camera inputs. I don't care about wireless Carplay, or Nav.
In my '12 GS (non-Bose) I had both a Pioneer avh-2300nex & avh-4200nex without any fitment issues. Crutchfield says no Pioneer with cd, Carplay & dual camera inputs will fit the C6. So will the avh-2330nex, 2440nex, 2550nex, w-4400nex, w-4500nex fit?
Hey JabCat. I don't believe Crutchfield's fitment guide to be accurate. I think their measurements are a little conservative and I do believe that any double din head unit fill fit a C6. I never heard someone say they had a head unit that didn't fit. That being said, if you are set on having a Pioneer, I would recommend the Pioneer 8400nex. I see it on Amazon right now for $640 through a 3rd party seller. There have been a few C6 owners who have installed it so fitment should not be an issue even though Crutchfield claims it won't fit. This was Pioneer's top model a year ago and price has dropped to what imo looks like a great deal for what it offers. You won't find it at Crutchfield though, since they only carry the newest models. Newest model is the 8600nex and just came out recently.

Thanks! I was chatting with one of their "specialists" who checked several times and came back with no Pioneer cd/dvd head units with Carplay & dual camera inputs for the Corvette which I found odd. I'l check out the model you mentioned.
According to Crutchfield, my 8200nex shouldn't fit either. Luckily I didn't check with Crutchfield before purchasing and installing it. I believe I checked at some point and the 8400 is the same exact dimensions as my 8200. And most likely the new 8600 and slightly older 8500 have the same dimensions also.
Here is a couple of threads where it comes up and kind of proves my point.

Yes, their fitment guide isn't accurate, if you compare the dimensions of the different systems they're all about the same as my 8200 and it fits just fine. As far as the one you should get, As Fred mentioned you can find some good deals on the 8400 which, if I remember correctly, came out 2 years ago. If you search, you can also find last years model, the 8500 NEX, for about $850. Both the 8400 and 8500 were their top of the line models at the time. When they both came out they were both at around $1200, which is what their latest model that just came out, the 8600 costs, so if you don't mind a little older model, you can save some pretty good money.

Thanks for the correction Madson. Without looking it up, you are correct, the 8400 would have been released in 2018. Time goes by too fast for me to keep up. But if I was considering a Pioneer head unit today, I would definitely strongly consider the 8400 at that price point. Unless there was some must have feature that I couldn't live without on the 8500 or 8600, which I am not sure there is. Will have to look it up.

I know what you mean, and it seems the older you get, the quicker time goes by, and that just ain't right. Yeah, I think you're right about the 8400 v.s. the 8500, I don't think there's enough differences between the two to justify the couple hundred bucks difference in price.
These guys are all correct. Cruthfield's fitment guide is not correct. I have a Pioneer in my 12 GS no issue. I bought mine from them also with the pre-wired harness.
I had just put in a pioneer AVH2500NEX and hated it.. 90% of the time you cant read the display... and when i added my metra dash kit it would of needed major mod as you cant get to radio contols good.
So i returned it and just put in a AVH2400NEX and you can tilt the screen on this..all is good now..

I was ready to buy from them but they said they wouldn’t offer the pre-wired harness because the radio wouldn’t fit.

I was looking at the 2550 & saw your experience. I ended up going with a avh2330nex for the 2 camera inputs. I don’t mind getting an older model for 1/2 the price of new ones.

For me, wireless CarPlay isn’t worth the $100-$200 more. I’ve replaced the front lighter with a usb that goes directly to the head unit & my phone holder is right there so having it plugged in is not a big deal.

Funny, my order arrived today and when I opened the box there was a note inside that said "your purchased has been upgraded for free to the newest model" & in the box was the AVH-2550NEX. I probably would have tried to install it had I not seen your issues with the Metra trim kit. Thankfully, I contacted the seller & they were happy to send me a shipping label to send the 2550 back & they're sending me a 2440 which works for me.

You will be happy sending it back... Screen was impossible to read most of the time and you cant angle the fixed screen on the avh2500 or 2550nex...After I got my 2400nex I was so happy I didn't try to like the 2500nex...
If you can find a used 8200, it will fit all day long, and it's got all the features you're looking for. A few of us on here run them and I have no intention of replacing my anytime soon. Especially since we've verified that it does NOT clip at ANY volume. That's pretty rad.
