Hi, new member (over 60 not mph) but been following for last year and just joined. Ex IBM tech and familiar with component wiring and diagrams also Muscle car street racer from 60's. Have 2006 with Gps Bose system replacing amp and spkrs. you know why... Looking to put in Alpine KTA-450 Amp, Pioneer TA-A652C for doors and TS-A1370F for rears. Was working with Crutchfield and ran into problem of how to connect HU to amp. their solution was pull unit cut harness coming from head unit connect RCA cables to connector then to Amp. Read alot about Pac AOEM-GM24 and how bad it is then about Add- GM24 harness that isn't available. both of these basically plug in between the HU and the factory harness to get the low level outputs, trigger lead and when I looked at the diagram saw the antenna amplifier had two wires coming from Bose amp. Now those connectors that plug into Bose amp must have all the input sources I need right at the Amp location in foot well. Been looking for Bose amp connector wiring to identify whats what. The only one I see is all outputs to speakers and antenna amplifier. If anyone has the input diagram we could eliminate all adapters and harnesses and just cut Bose plug off and hard wire to RCA jacks and what we need from factory harness to the Alpine harness. P.S. Took me a year to join because there wasn't a question I had that you haven't answered. This one is probably there also just haven't found it.. Thanks
Welcome Mike. To answer your question, the easiest way took hook the factory amp up is by removing it completely, throwing onto your driveway, pouring gasoline on the crushed remains, and lighting it on fire. Bose is utter garbage, in fact even calling it garbage is too nice. Ditch anything and everything Bose and go aftermarket. Buy some RCAs and run it.
I agree Bose sucks, the question is connecting the RCA jacks to the radio. AOEM-GM24 isn't good, the ADD-GM24 harness isn't available any more. Was trying not to cut into factory radio harness. Was originally thinking if I could get Bose input diagram, all the low level inputs would be down in foot well already but found out the door woofers have their own amps so their low level input probably go straight to them not the amp. I am trying to contact Scosche.com to see if they have or can make a harness with plug to fit radio with a short harness and another plug to accept factory plug like a small extension harness so I can cut RCA cables into that. Spoke to a local installer said he use something called a cleaner I think made by LN or JL just looking into that now. If you know what this is or any ideas let me know thanks

I understand you are seeking advise on how to interface the Bose amplifier with a aftermarket amplifier but in all honesty, you're going to be chasing your tale. Echoing what Ronin said, bypassing the Bose amplifier entirely is likely what you will have to do. Easiest method, replace the head unit. OEM H/U's leave much to be desired anyhow. The JL clean sweep could be employed but you will also need their summing module because the Bose speakers are crossed over actively & you will need a flat full range signal feeding the aftermarket amplifier. Replacing the head unit simplifies & solves all your problems.
I'm not interfacing another amp with Bose amp I'm getting rid of the Bose amp I need to connect low level outputs from Factory GPS head unit to after market amp with new speakers and wiring. I could cut into factory harness but I don't want to do that what I want to do is get or make a short extension harness in between head unit and factory harness and cut into this to connect cable RCA jack to new amp
Those are the GM female & male connector harnesses that you would need to build your own bypass harness. According to the schematic, it seems the OE head unit has 4 channel low level output that you could wire RCA ends to. All this assuming the output signal from the h/u is full range & doesn't have any kind of bass roll off, which Bose is notorious for..
yes this must be what they were talking about I'll be looking online to see the info will post when I'm done with sound proofing and stereo upgrade let you know the results thanks
I was looking at radio diagram and found low level outputs go down the Bose amp harness to pins A4+, A5- left rear, A6+,A7-, left front, B4+, B5-, right rear, B6+, B7-,right front, if I tap into those lead with RCA plugs wouldn't have to make any harness for head unit or take radio out or take console apart. see any issue with that? I f I could pull the connector on the amp off or buy another connector like the Bose amp connector could just solder RCA leads to that and not damage factory harness at all.
just did radio software upgrade to get clock back. Got it from someone on ebay. I know you can download and burn disc yourself but he want like $ 20 dollars and also sent 2016 map disc seemed a good deal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/25453200496...m=254532004960 So I loaded it worked great clock back get eta when I use nav. but got extra bonus I would assume it was from clock radio software up date maybe changed audio tone curves but sound got much better highs were crisp , bass boosted, nice warm and deep, speakers sound good now won't upgrade amp and speakers. I know this system isn't the best but be honest the amount of noise in car its not critical to be so.anybody else fix there clocks with software let me know if you saw difference
How do you like that KTA-450 amp? I'm looking at adding that to my new Alpine head unit. Though some say it doesn't put out the power that it's rated for, i.e. 50Wx4. Though I haven't seen anyone put it on a dyno to verify it isn't putting out it's rated power.
still deciding what to do with radio did other projects CIA , gears. spoke to Ray Kawal about adding Aux input he said better to get 2009-2013 radio to replace mine, easy swap but I heard that some features like Heads Up Display may be different anyone try this? also anyone that has a Blue tooth radio do you have to use steering wheel controls to use phone or can you just use head unit controls? Ray said if you change clock spring ,get steering wheel with buttons and new onstar module radio hooks up to mic and everything works. was wondering if it worked without steering wheel control.
Found you just need 2 button for bluetooth to work to connect to steering post harness. bought c6 2012 nav radio to get aux/ usb inputs also has blue tooth hands free. Spoke to Ray Kawal straight swap install with a few harnesses to access AUX/USB which I will do but to get Bluetooth for hands free phone need steering wheel with phone /radio controls, 2009 or later steering post clock spring, and v8/9 onstar comm. module. All parts available about $300+ depending on steering wheel (nice carbon fiber $1000) Like to know if anyone done this whole change over or parts of it how it was doing it?
Why not just replace the head unit with an aftermarket unit since you already plan to do speakers and amp. The factory nav unit is dated garbage. I couldn't wait to remove mine from my 2012. A new head unit will add all the available modern features while also improving the sound quality of your system. My advice, replacing the head unit is one of the best mods you can do to a C6.
when you replaced head unit how did it affect other features like Heads Up Display, DIC display? Factory nav not the best but unit has nice features Bluetooth is voice command, usb port shows music menu with IPOD or usb stick
