Does the car come with that price? That's too funny. I have had my issues with audio shops. It's hard to ever recommend to someone take it to a shop, or this shop, and have it done professionally, because I know what comes next. My intentions were never to do my C6 myself, but after talking to a couple of installers and hearing their prices and them not exactly making me feel confident in their knowledge or abilities, I ended up doing my own install. Although my price quotes were never near $19k.
Albeit, there's a fair amount of work there, I think they're out of line on some of the hourly charges on some things, let alone their hourly rate of $160/hr. which to me is way out of line.
I'm leaning more and more towards doing most of it myself. On the max end I was thinking half of that cost. I agree its a bit of work, but they went a bit overboard. I have already added deadning to the vehicle. For the parking system, I've had it on a different vehicle and didn't cost 2880, which was more than the system. They charged 16 hours for a sub enclosure when they were going to use a Stealthbox.
So you have to pay that ON TOP of the gear? Audiofrog ain't cheap bro.
I have the gear now. I've been searching through the forums for the last few months. I ordered some Valicar pods for the tweeters, but they have been stuck in Germany for two weeks.
I will say this...that looks like it will be a killer system, but holy **** the install is highway robbery!!! I would move on to another shop, try and figure out a way to do some of it yourself or find a dude who will do it on the side on the cheap. Don't get me wrong, your money, you spend it the way you want but that system would be 5 or 6 grand to install at our local shop.

This is their star installer. That's why the hours are so high.
4 hours for each amp and additional 8 hours for the cover? They must be including glue/fiberglass cure time... and as mentioned, their hourly rate... WOW!!! Would be more understandable if they included shop materials in that, but I see they have a separate line item for that also.... Run as fast as you can!

Like after you install the 1st one it's going to take 4 more hours to do the second? and then another full day to make the cover!? I think likely they just didn't want the work. If you are willing to pay they'll take the job, but they really don't want it.

I thought the same thing, but why watse the time to put this together. Just tell that you're booked for months. Apparently they were taking apart and putting it back together with each piece of equipment.
You went with top of the line equipment and got a top of the line price. They are stripping out the interior and sound deadening? Custom box, custom fiber glass pillars, and custom amp covers. Radar detector and jammers? That's a celebrity install.
