2012 C6 Grand Sport M6 vert.
i have the factory amp and speakers currently being driven by a Kenwood 957XR. Additionally, I am running an 8" Kicker Hideaway powered sub woofer in the trunk.
I plan to replace factory amp and speakers with a Kicker KSS 6704 speaker set and drive it with a Kicker KEY 200.4 amp. The Hideaway and KEY amp both recommend 14 ga wire for power and ground. Since I already have the 14 ga power running to the Hideaway, can I wire the KEY amp to the same wire coming from the battery with an inline 20ga fuse? Will having both amps drawing power from the same line cause an issue upon startup? Should I increase the size of the fuse?
Thoughts?
14gauge stranded copper wire can handle 20 amps. If the total of both amps is higher, then run a 2nd power or replace with 10 or 8 gauge. And of course bigger main fuse.
