I am going to install a new sound system in my 1995 coupe. I will be running two Rockford amps
One 100 watts x 4 , and a 500 watt x1 . I will be using 4 gauge wire red and black from the battery. I just installed a new 140 amp alternator last fall. The battery is a Interstate group 75 MTP
700 cca R/C 95 C/A 875.
I am asking the group for help in determining if the current battery will be enough.
I will be using a C Tech 7002 charger when the car is not being driven.
I have been advised locally to get a AGM battery but have mixed feeling as it is not a direct fit unless modification are done to the battery area.
Thanks Hawkeye56
Any battery should work fine for you, it doesn't have to be an AGM. I also noticed you said you're running 4 gauge red and black wire from the battery, you want to keep your ground wire as short as possible and ground it as close as you can to the amps, this'll help reduce the chance of noise in your system.
