Just purchased a Kenwood/GPS double din for my 2000 C5 @ 6.8. Will attempt to install myself and believe I can do it.
Couple of questions remain for me:
1. Will I require a new bezel? My opening on my OEM is 7-1/8. All the bezel ads I've looked at make no mention of size,,only car model.
2. Where should I place the GPS antenae? There has been some suggestion that it best be "outside? due to radio antenae is in windshield.
3. Bose System speakers should work? Right?
Here's hoping some of you fellas can offer some sage advice.
Welcome to the forum. There are others with more knowledge and experience on this subject. However, I can answer some of your questions. In order to fit a double din you will either need to purchase an aftermarket double din bezel such as the one made by Metra or Vettenuts, or you would need to trim your stock bezel.
I don't know the details of your particular head unit, but many require an adapter to work with the Bose speakers.
Does your new HU come with Android auto and Apple carplay? If so, I would just run the GPS off of your phone. I definitely would not want to add an exterior antennae to the car. Perhaps you could stash it inside the A-pillar, or something like that. Good luck with your project. If you do a search, there are many many threads on double din installs on the C5.
Best Buy installs for free as long as you buy a head unit from them, which you already bought.
They did mine. The installer had 25 years experience. He did an excellent job. They can put anything you want in there, subs, amps, speakers, cameras, USB ports, sound deadening material, etc…

1) as others have said... yes. Don't both trying, it won't fit. You're hitting very deeply re-tread waters here.
2) tuck it behind the radio. It may get some interference, if you really want to put it in a good, interference free place, run it to the trunk, on the inside near the radio antenna... Either velcro it, or if it has a magnet, there's some metal back there it will stick to. The vette is fiberglass, the GPS signals will penetrate the body panel.
3) yes.. but they SUCK. And you will need an OEM-PAC converter.
You'll be surprised at how easy it is to take the center console and bezel out... and, one major upside to getting the OEM PAC converter --- you don't have to do any wiring inside the car... the converter plugs into your stock harness, and you wire your head unit to the output of the PAC unit, you can do all the wiring outside the car.
I placed the GPS and Sirius antennae in the
wiper area. Have no concerns. Mounting and wire running was easy. Antenna have metal bases so the fiberglass body is not a problem.

The GPS antenna works from pretty much anywhere under the dash. Mine works and picks up my location from under the dash while I’m still parked in my garage.

Yep, when I first installed my aftermarket system in my C6, I had both the Nav, and XM antennas installed under the dash on top of the center HVAC vents, and they worked fine. I've since figured out how to reuse the stock antennas, and I'm currently using those (less wire clutter). One thing to remember with Nav antennas, is that it's supposed to be on a metal plate or sheet, which most aftermarket systems supply with their systems, failure to use it will result in a weaker signal strength, from Pioneers install instructions.
