documented Dynamat install
Before you go to the site suggested below, turn on your pop-up killer!!! If you don't have one, go to http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10...ml?tag=lst-5-2 for a free one
I gave a high-level documentation of the process at
http://home.1asphost.com/matthouston/Dynamat/index.htm
I am looking for suggestions regarding how to
1. Improve my Dynamat install (in addition to completing it with partition and rear storage area application)
2. Improve the documentation. I would like to have it published wherever people see value in it.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Poll question: What value do you see in the documented process at http://home.1asphost.com/matthouston/Dynamat/index.htm?
FAQ:
1. How long did it take: About 6 hours for two people. We could do it again in half the time.
2. Was it worth it? Not yet. I do not notice a significant decrease in power yet. However, the next steps (partition and rear storage area) should be more helpful than this step was.
3. Any suggestions? Build / buy a partition and install it first. Apply Dynamat to the rear storage area and partition before spending time on the floor under the seats.

My 02 vert has only 6000 miles on it and I don't want to start tearing into it and breaking stuff.
1. Damping: By applying a asphault membrane to a metal panel, the panels vibrations can be converted to mechanical heat rather than sound. (Dynamat or Similar)
2. Blocking Absorbers: By applying a membrane sanwiched between a accoustical foam, you can greatly reduce tranmission of sound from panels. This can be the single biggest change you can make to cabinnoise.
A combination of brown bread and L-comp is the route we are taking.
