GPS Question
I need a unit that that can fit my needs of cars and Truck with trailers. Believe it or not, I had an old NUVI 360. It had a section where you could tell it you were a) A car, b) a Truck and c) a pedestrian. It was a wonderful feature.
My truck did not come with a nav system. My wife's came with a factory nav and I hate it. My phone has a small screen (so it fits in my pocket). I am thinking of a 7 or 8 inch screen. Plus I like certain GPS features (like voice command).
My friend is a waze lover and thinks I'm nuts. I prefer the GPS. To me its not right or wrong, it's preference.
I wrote Garmin and they replied I will need a Dezl product to be able to avoid parkways. The Dezl products are designed for truck drivers. Here is a link to them.

They seem to have a lot of info I do not need. Anyone have experience with the Dezl line? Many people here must tow. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Went to Wikipedia:A parkway is a landscaped thoroughfare.[1] The term is particularly used for a roadway in a park or connecting to a park from which trucks and other heavy vehicles are excluded.[1]
Over the years, many different types of roads have been labeled parkways. The term may be used to describe city streets as narrow as 2 lanes with a landscaped median, wide landscaped setbacks, or both.
The term has also been applied to scenic highways and to limited-access roads more generally. Many parkways originally intended for scenic, recreational driving have evolved into major urban and commuter routes.
Maybe the racing guys would know. They all tow their cars. But the moderator moved the post here.
I guess not many tow or have parkway restrictions. I was taking my car down to Summit Point in West Virginia to meet up with to run our cars on track I got lucky. The GPS took me to the belt parkway and I got on for one exit and then off.
My friend coming up to NY wasn't as lucky. He got on. He got a ticket and then had to get off at the next exit.
Now its true that is I go to Settings > Navigation > Avoidances, I can block areas. But in NY there are too many and other states may have roads trucks are not allowed.
I guess I'm a bit outdated. Most use their phones. I like a GPS.
Anyone who is GPS knowledgeable or knows about the units, any help appreciate.
