C7 2014 2LT complete audio swap
Some important takeaways
- When using a AmpPro PAC Audio unit and wiring they come with schematics and the wires with fancy heat shrink tubing that are speaker labels —— DISREGARD ALL OF IT BECAUSE ALL THE WIRING IS WRONG
- PAC AUDIO IS of no help and don’t waste your time with Crutchfield tech support
- use a AA or 9 volt battery , some painters tape and a sharpie and test tone all of your speakers so you know the correct color code for them and then label them with the tape
- turn the sensitivity on all channels of the amp/amps to at least 50%, mine were turned off and it took a couple of hrs to figure that out
- I was able to hide the JLAudio XD200 in the cubby hole in rear of car, I attached the JLAudio XD700 to the rear panel just below hatch latch - then put cargo net in place and you can’t even see it.
Mild -2- Wild exhaust switch
20 amp remove from slot and jumper snapped in its place. Then 20 amp fuse was snapped into jumper.
Inside fuse box under the hood on passenger side.
Mild/Wild module velcro down - there isn’t a blue antenna wire anymore. The antenna is internal now.

Would like to get an update on this...
speakers broken in yet? How's the front stage sounding as far as midrange and bass/mibass? Are the amps enough power for you?
The choices were an awesome upgrade, I don’t know if they are broken in yet but they sound really good already. I have tuned and listened to everything from Metallica to George Strait to Big Band music. My only disappointment is the rear sub and not sure why but you can’t even tell it’s on without looking back and see it moving @VinceC5 Do you feel this sub is starved for power if that’s the case would a cheap single channel small amp make that kicker hit hard enough to feel it?
- Kenwood subs in the doors were a very tight fit and required some metal fab work to make a metro adapter so they would fit. I wouldn’t recommend those to a novice without some fab skills
- due to the lack of technical support these days I wouldn’t suggest a swap like this to “once again a novice”
- HMI and Radio module swap - I will reserve a comment till after next week when I can see if I can get things ironed out
- Due to lack of performance in rear sub if you want some tight bass to round out your stage save your money for the JL Audio sub.
