Default 2013 C6 Corvette

Hello... I'm looking for suggestions on the simplest and most cost effective solution to upgrade the radio and speakers. My goals are: I want CarPlay, and the passenger side large door speak sounds like its blown. It sounds like the cone came apart. I read in this section about the 1ohm and 4ohm issue so I'm wondering if I should just buy a new OEM factory bose speaker or try to repair the broken one in the door. I'm looking at a Sony head unit that fits in the stock radio hole. I don't want the new style of floating screens. I would rather have it more OEM looking.

The car is a 1SC 427 convertible. The other issue is you really need to turn up the volume when the top is down. That is probably why the speaker is blown.

thoughts?

I suggest going with a quality Double DIN head unit such as Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine etc. Since your speaker is blown I suggest just replacing them all with some quality speakers, and of course you'll need an amp to power them, then while your at it I'd also add a sub to add the needed bass these cars lack.

First, replace the head unit with an aftermarket double din like Madsonp mentioned. And second, if you are looking for simplest and most cost effective solution for your blown speaker, just replace it with a new oem door speaker or some have even repaired the blown speaker as the cone separates from the frame (known issue). You can purchase the speaker at RockAuto.com, part # 84510963.

To fix the door woofer, some have used gorilla glue or something comparable to glue the cone back to the frame.

Beware that as of this writing, Sony forces you to choose between wired-only CarPlay (older models) and wireless-only CarPlay (newer models).

This is frustrating because on a road trip you might prefer to go wired because it works better, but use wireless on short journeys for convenience.
