i recently bought aftermarket JBL speakers for my 06' 3Lt Base coupe Vet i want a more powerful loud sound. The speakers i bought can handle a lot of power but the stock amp cannot give them the power they need so i was looking at purchasing a jbl club a6002 amp. I understand amps are hard to install because you have to wire through battery and wire the speakers to it but if the car already has a stock amp can i just replace it with the jbl? I heard something about using a converter if the wires cant handle that but what is that and how do i install one. Please walk me through step by step on replacing the amp. Im good with wiring and stuff i soldering in my new speakers so thats not a problem.
I m in the process of replacing my Bose amp. I had already replaced the speakers in my 2012 but was still not happy. I replaced the Bose amp with Kenwood M3001 and Kenwood M3004 amps. The 2 channel is for the subs in the doors. THe 4 channel is for the tweets in the doors, and the dash tweets. The other channel is for the behind the seat speakers. I plan on doing a write up as soon as I am done but I did not have to rewire the speakers. Everything was right there at the Bose plugs. WIth help from another forum member and a schematic I found online it was pretty simple, except for getting my shoulders under the dash. Your wire colors might be different but it is doable. Hardest part was pulling the console so I could plug in the RCA cables.
I looked but i couldnt find a answer to if im able to switch out the stock amp for a new one
yes. You can replace the stock amp. I don't know of anyone that makes a plug and play harness, so you have to look up schematics for your model. Using micro amplifiers is the least amount of work since everything should fit in the stock location.
Sounds like were in the same boat man. You said you had a 4 channel amp and u were using 3 of those channels for the 3 tweeders and the 4th channel for the behind seat speakers but i am confused... are you able to wire the 2 midrange rear speakers to only 1 channel??
I have one 4 channel amp with 2 channels going to the behind the seat speakers and the other 2 going to the door tweets. You can attach the 2 dash tweets to the door tweets with the center speaker disconnected. the other 2 channel amp is for the door subs.
