My CD changer decided to pack-up on the way into work this morning :(
It was working fine before, but now it displays 'Err' on the display whenever I attempt to play a CD. I can hear the changer load the CD from the magazine, but it refuses to play anything. There are some badly surfaced roads around here and I'm guessing it's a mechanical problem with the changer not helped by the poor condition of many British roads!! Any of you guys had this problem?? Any suggestions as to what it might be? It's the original Delco RPO.
Did you try and remove the magazine and put it back in? Sounds like it is getting power. Mine did that a few times. Also some "burned" CD's may not play and that is why you are getting a ERR message. Hope that helps. Keep us posted.
I have tried removing and re-inserting the magazine several times. I have also checked that all the CD's are mounted correctly (ie. label side down).
All CD's in the magazine are store-bought (ie. not CDR's). I have since sent a mail to a Delco radio specialist describing the problem and they say I have a cracked gear assy which will cost $250+ to fix
