Seems there are problems if you experience any difficulty after the purchase and install.
Clifford qualifies shops to do the install and then will not stand behind work or product. They also feel no one is competent to install their products except their own authorized dealer. If you fry it or damage it in any way they will not replace your unit, nor will they sell you a direct replacement. You have to go through any of their AUTHORIZED DEALERS so they can charge you again for the install. Even if the AUTHORIZED DEALER has no idea how to properly install the product in a Vette. Ask Kim Lazarasky on the ZR1 net, she has also experience this very same issue.
So my answer is RUN from any of their products and don't look back.

Years ago, my father had Circuit City install a clifford in his mercedes. After the battery was drained a few times from the many false alarms and electrical problems, he had them disconnect the thing. Unfortunately, the wiring harness is full of extra wires leading all over the place. I have kept his little SL since his passing but I sure dread the thought of any future wiring harness work.
I have since heard that Clifford is NOT the way to go by several people!
With a good install the Clifford should be fine. However I would recommend a 650 XV Viper or a 550ESP if you want the remote start option. These are easier to install.

I started looking at the viper and python, and they seem better to me. I just need to check out a couple install shops in the area and of course save up for it.
No problems with my Clifford installed at Best Buy. I turn off the proximity warning system though because I don't liked to be paged everytime someone gets only near the car.
Funny... I have a Clifford and never heard antthing but good things about them... LOL
Mine works just fine I love it. Viper (Viper is made by DEI) makes Clifford by the way...
:iagree:
I've had 4 different Clifford systems in different cars. Never had any problems with them. 2 of them were even pulled and installed in something else.
(take that back) One problem is the hood sensor that comes with them. I've always ended up having it changed out with a waterproof one. The shop that did my installs starting doing this out of habit.
