JL Audio TR525-CX
I installed a set of JL Audio TR525-CX in the rear of my 99 C5, and they sound terrible. :eek: Is this a plug and play or do I need to do something else?

I found the problem, on my Alpine HU if you have the sub-woofer mode enabled it routes output to the sub-woofer. If there aren’t sub-woofers connected the sub-woofer mode needs to be disabled. Did that and it sounds much better now and have good volume control.

Not much volume, have to tune the fader mostly to the rear to hear them. The quality of the sound is what you get from a cheap old time transistor radio I had back in the early 60’s. After reading all the stories on the forum about how bad the bose speakers are compared to after-market units I thought I would try to upgrade the sound quality. :cheers:

Did the speakers you took out and the speakers you put in all have the same resistance? (Ohms.) Check to make sure that it matches up. For example, if you take a 4 ohm speaker out you will need to replace it with another 4 ohm speaker. Thanks.

Perhaps you wired them out of phase. How did you determine which speaker wire was + and which one was - ?
