I'm pretty sure they are individual powered speakers. There won't be an amp so even if the head unit is running the speaker it sounds like it may just be a connection that came off the speaker. Pull it out and have a look. :yesnod:
I checked the speaker conection, and it was good. I also connected that speaker to the other side to make sure it was not the speaker. The speaker worked, so the problem is somewhere else.
So there is no sound if you fade to the rear balance to the right? You know THAT speaker works but how about trying the other speaker on that side. I believe that the back of the deck has a harness coming out rather than individual speaker wires so I don't think the connection could be there, however there may be an inline crossover before that speaker that has a bad connection. :skep:
I have some stock Bose that I pulled out of either a '93 Camaro or '95 T/A, I'll try and have a look at them tomorrow...they aren't at my house...to see what they hookups are. Keep in touch though.
I did try connecting the other speaker to that side, and got no sound, so the problem is definately somewhere on that side. Maybe I cn check further down the wires.
I looked at the back of an old BOSE head unit from my T/A. There were 4 plugs coming out but i'm not sure if they were seperate to the rears. If so, one may be unplugged. I'll see if I can find out for you. :p:
I think the current setup has three plugs
it sounds like just that channels amp went bad, I think that is a better possibility than a broken wire. I do believe the rears are feed wattage by the radio and the fronts have there own amp
Don't quote me on this, it's been awhile since I sold my system out of my C5 and I have only a few brain cells left. I am Sofa King we tart Ted.
There is a Bose equalizer located above the gas pedal, which processes the line level signals from the head unit. The processed line level signals then go back to the head unit, to 4 channels of power amps (Front Left Mid/tweeter, Front right mid/tweeter, left rear mid, right rear mid. Another set of line level outs go from the processor (low frequency crossover filtered) to the front left bass power amp, and front right bass power amp, each amp part of the Left and right door speakers.
