Re: I ordered my back up camera today (again). (leolufse)
Good find....I just ordered one also. Do you know where you are going to put it? I am thinking about putting it in my third brake light. Have to get the camera in hand first though. I have the interior all out right now thinking aobut posting some progress pics. What do you think?

The third brake light is a good idea, but I've got a black out covering mine and I don't think it will look right to drill into that as well. The camera itself is already smaller than a dime, and the opening required for the pin hole lense is even less. I'm not sure I have the ***** to drill into the third brake light or rear fascia. I'm thinking about mounting in the fascia behind the license plate and drilling through the plate itself. I'll have to see exactly how big it is and what gives the best picture and will look the most stealthy.
Ken @ Vette Essentials has his in the third brake light and it looks sweet. He even did his without removing the light. I think I am going to pull the light myself and put it there. I will take several pictures when I start. Won't be till next week, I still have to finish sound deading and running the wires then put car back together. Oh I am in so much trouble with the old lady since she can not park her car in the garage. I think I am going to be sleeping in my shop soon.

Just curious... whats the purpose of the rear view camera  the C5 is not a bus :jester
On a serious note... what is it that you gain after all the time and $$ spent  ....what can the camera do that the rear view mirror cant
I know where you are coming from Conquer. Does seem a bit far fetched for a vette. But I can tell you my reason for doing it. I have one in my F350 dually and love it. It lets me know that there is something the truck can not run over behind me so now I am quite used to having one in my vechicle. The other major reason for me is I have to back down an unlit 150 ft twisting driveway and it SUCKS in the vette. But most of all....it is just cool when you put the car in reverse and what is behind you shows up on the screen.

9:00 at night, I'm in the brightly lit garage, lowered dark burgundy Dakota in the dark, driveway slightly tilted down, convertible top up = no can see!
Actually, it doesn't really cost that much to install if you have the screen.
Yeah, I think I'm going to do mine in the plate like that.
I was also thinking about adding a cam to the front of the car, to flip on when I'm approaching a steep driveway to determine if the front of the car is going to scrape
