I just got the MB QUART PSD-213........I wanted to get you stereo guys thought on this....What if I did not use the crossovers that came with them and I used a 4 channel amp with all the crossover settings....and ran the tweets to 2 channels and the mids to the other 2 channels....I also have a Coustic MX-6 crossover network...which I think is a great peice....I have the 7995 head unit with 3 sts of preouts.....so i'm good there.....I can adjusts the tweets to see as much as 10k and above....with the network.....But would it be better to do this and not use the crossovers that came with the MB's or use them instead...or is this going to be a try it and see....If I don't use them it's alot more work...but thats not the point....I want to have clean tight loud sound that you feel like your are right there at a concert.....so to speak.....
Apollo, your best bet to have the most control over you system is to not use the passive xovers or the amps xover and to just use the coutic xm6. Kale is correct that they are harder to set but it is not that bad. I would find out what the xover settings are that came with you quarts and set the xm6 to those settings first. Then you have a base line to start with. If you ever find your way over to Tampa I can tune it for you if you would like.
I see you have a C4...these are speaker mounts and enclosure to help protect the rear of the speakers I built for my C5.
Re: Componets question and help please.... (EatRice)
How is it posible not to use the crossover on the amp?......What about using all the built in stuff in the deck......can I not use it either...or would it be best to do it that way....I am lost at this....I have re did my system 10 times now and I still am not happy......So I went and got this new stuff......Now I am looking for a different amp for the componets....but, one that wont break my wallet....I used to live in Tampa.....Thanks for the offer....I may be heading that way soon as my Grand father is dying.....
