Change Rear Speakers Only?
Is it possible to change only the rear speakers? I don't mind the door speakers, but I would like a little better sound from the rear speakers and don't want to get an amp.

I replaced mine with a set of CDT's, and there was very little difference.
The problem is not the speaker, but the lack of power. I was sure that an upgrade would be good, but now I recommend you not waste the time, effort or money.

Another option to improve the speaker sound is to reduce road noise. If you put sound insulation under the capeting it will enhance the sound of the stereo.

Thanks for the tips guys. I wasn't sure if the problem was the speakers or the power, so that definitely helps. I put in a partition I got from 21st Century MC and have already noticed a dramatic improvement in the sound of the stereo. I had put some insulation in my coupe and plan on adding some Dynamat to the trunk of the Z bwhen the stereo goes in. I suppose it will only be a matter of time before I replace all the speakers and add a sub.

The best option would be to remove the stock rear speakers and just run the fronts. Rear speakers absolutely kill your imaging and soundstage.
