C4 Vette Subwoofer Boxes
so where do i find aftermarket boxes for C4's??? Every website that sells custom boxes for corvettes only sell em for C5's....WHAT IS THE DEAL? are us poor, lowly C4 owners NOT GOOD ENOUGH to make subwoofer enclosures for?? DO WE NOT BUY STUFF TOO?
I would show pictures of the Greenwood subwoofer box I do own, for everyone, but I dont have access to post them yet, so just ask me, and I will send you some pix at drydzewski@hotmail.com
WHERE DO I GO?? Id love to find a prefab box for the behind the seat storage compartment.... Can someone help me??
Also, im handicaped, and so its hard for me to be able to make my own enclosure, otherwise i would have already made one, since Ive done it before for other cars Ive had.
thanks,

I am just sick and tired of seeing all kinds of neat subwoofer applications for C5's and NONE for C4's. Im luck enough as it is to have found a Greenwood subwoofer box on ebay, AND to buy it. It seems that my only option using the box right now is to cut it in half, and widen it a bit to fit my monsterous L710's in it. I figure about 2 more inches lenthwise to the enclousure will do. Im fustrated that I can not upload pics of it to ya, execpt try this link to the auction I won which is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7921718206 .... this should show you what I bought. These people claim they have 15 more of these subwoofer boxes, so if you are all interested, try contacting the seller.
I have seen some of the custom fiberglass boxes for the storage compartments, Id love to find one for sale! So, if you know anyone....... heh!

The problem is that the C4 does not have a simple place to put such an enclosure.
Buiding one into the storage works great, but I donno about portability. I will let you know! If I can build 1, and remove it easily, then I will build a few more and sell'm! However, I suspect they won't be cheap.
And they will require custom fitting to make it look right against the floor.
This is why I am such a fan of the 8" subs in the rear. Hell, I still might do that with mine! The Boston 8's are insanely lovely sounding. Not as punchy as say a 10, but so smooth, rich and full. Great for jazz and modern rock. They bump, but not in an ignorant manner.
What I intend to do for bastet44's 87 is the 2 8" subs in the rear, and a 5 channel amp (using my JL 500/5), mounted on the rear bulkhead, with a plexi stand off to a) give it guarenteed air space and b) protect the finish from abrasion.
500/5 specs: 100 x 2; 25 x 2 (rear fill or separate tweets, I am using it for separate tweets); 250 x 1 (more than enough for 2 8" subs).
The install will look stealthy, but still sound nice and full.
My system currently is using the 500/5, driving a pair of Boston Z6 components and a 10" JL Audio 10W3V2. I plan on getting a Butler Tube Driver 2150 (150w X 2) and a 250 or 500 x 1 amp to power the sub(s).
Time will tell... I may have a 10W3V2 for sale...
