Default Couple interesting C4 things..

I am putting a Sony deck in my 92 C4....Here's the rundown.
1..12' Alpine Type-R SVC in a sealed enclosure for the hatch
2..Sony Blackface CD rcvr.Running no speakers ony Pre-outs.
3..My little Favorites....Eclipse Point Source 5 1/4" for the front floors. These little bugger are NICE!...pricey but nice
4..Fosgate 500a2 for the 12.
5..JBL GST150 for the Eclipse 5 1/4's.
6.Stinger Platinum 4g to quad 8g dist block...one 4g to supply two amps.
7.Stinger Platinum 8g to dual 8g ground dist block dual 40 amps fuses using the same ground.(battery-)
8.4g brass terminal for ground and Positive lead fused again right at battery.(40)amp.
I've yet to put the deck in but both amps are grounded and powered.

Both amps are behind the seats on the (wall)...Here's the interesting part.

I was changing the negative ground terminal to brass lugs and noticed the interior lights came back on as the ground lug touched the negative WITHOUT the negative terminal connected.......I traced it back to the passenger amp grounding the whole car as it was screwed to the wall... I made a wood bracket to attach the amp and all is well..... There is definitely something on that side that is metal......

there is metal all over the insides, really.

The rockers are metal, there are metal supports...

it does sound queer, eh?

Oddly enough that I used the same screws on the driver side and no problems at all....I even redrilled anouther pairs of pilot holes and as soon as I secured the amp with the screws it would ground...Not that it really was a problem to begin with.Just an extra ground. The odd part was the fact that it grounded out the WHOLE electrical system.....all the lights inside and out worked properly with no negative cable attached....It had to be some sortof central ground and relayed the ground circuit through the amps ground wire to the battery.Which leads me to think the entire car is grounded AT the battery.!@!
I'm pretty sure I could've started the car with no negative cable attached.....

it is all grounded to the battery. All cars are grounded to the battery, when you think about it.

There are 27 separate grounds on a C4... insane!!!
