Default 89 fuse problem help

I just instaled an aftermarket stereo in My 89 and it now seems that I can't keep the driving light fuse from blowing. When the driving lights are turned on the fuse blows, but I still have the head lights. I'm currently looking for a short but the driving lights were working prior to me instaling this nightmare stereo. Any thoughts , Please help me

Check the illumination wire on the back of the radio. If the only thing that changed in the car is the radio that is most likely the problem. Either it is shorted or connected to the wrong wire.

Does the radio stop working when the fuse for the light blows? If so, you may have tapped the power for the radio from the light circuit and it is drawing too many amps. You can run a positive with an inline fuse from the battery directly to the radio. Radio should have a sepoerate switched positive that you splice to so the radio would still operate through ignition. Good luck Rich
