Default '88 Corvette Z51 track day car - 6 spd, 383 stroker

1988 Corvette Z51 track day car. This car is fast, looks and sounds good, and is VERY fun to drive. Registered as an antique in Texas, legal for limited street use.

History: I am the third owner, purchased the car in 2008 in pristine condition with 29k miles. Caught the track-day bug and started the conversion at 49k miles in 2017. I’m now 71 y.o., eyes are going bad, knee and hip issues getting worse, etc., so the car is for sale.

Body/interior/safety: 1988 Z51 coupe; fixed headlight conversion; TrackSpec hood vents; interior, a/c, heater blower gutted; Rippie “chassis brace” 4-pt roll bar welded in; VetteAid analog dash; Kirkey aluminum seats with back braces; Schroth 6-pt cam-locks (expired); stock seatbelts still in place (for street); Halon extinguisher mount; DIY CoolShirt setup. Paint is 90% original and looks good, has some scratches on passenger side door and rear quarter. Stripes and numbers are removable vinyl.

Engine: 383 stroker Gen 1 SBC (NOT just another LS swap!), 4-bolt main, 10.3:1 Wiseco forged pistons, forged SCAT rotating assembly (hand balanced), AFR 195 heads, Miniram, custom Erson cam, Holley Terminator-2 engine management, Stewart Stage 3 water pump and Ron Davis radiator; 2-qt Accusump (not installed). Dyno showed 387 rwhp before final tune.

Exhaust: TPIS long-tube headers, x-pipe, Power Effects adjustable mufflers (adjusts from LOUD to VERY LOUD!)

Drivetrain: ZF-6 Black Tag; custom lightened steel flywheel from Power Systems; Ram dual-disk clutch; Dana 44 rebuilt with 3.73 gears

Suspension: Lowered ~1.5”; RideTech HQ single adjustable shocks; adjustable SPC upper A arms; Delrin bushing kit; front spring VBP Extreme height-adjustable k=1000; rear spring stock from ’85 Z51 with extended bolts k=500; front sway Van Steel 35mm; rear sway stock Z51. Original Z51 springs and front sway included.

Brakes: Wilwood Aero 6 front with 14” C6 Z06 rotors; stock rear; Camaro 1” master cyl

Asking $15,500. Not interested in trades, thank you.

Available with purchase of Vette only: Lamar 20’ car hauler trailer, $2500. Pictures available on request.

Very cool build. Did you run your brake cooling lines from the fog lights? Guessing those are removed then?

Nice, I'm jealous of the adjustable front leaf springs.

Yes, fogs are replaced with inlet scoops in the same housing, extended in thru the front bulkhead to connect with ducts.
