Is a 21ft trailer fine for towing the Z06? Trying to keep weight/cost down.

Comparing the open and full decks it looks like the 21 Ft. trailers have 15 ft. runways.... and the 24 ft. trailers have 18 ft. runways. Hmmm....

I use a 16 ft trailer with a tire rack mounted on the front of it. Car fits on the trailer with a couple feet to spare and that is all you need with an open trailer. My door just clears the trailer fender when I am sitting in the car and have race tires on the car. The car isn't lowered.
If you have trouble with the door opening buy a 2 x 10 x 12 ft and bolt it to the floor on the drivers side. That should give you enough extra height to get the door open. Its better than cutting the fender.

I use that on my tahoe with a 24ft enclosed......brings the rear of the truck right back up where it should be.....also you know you need a weight distributing hitch correct.

Yes... the GMC Sonoma was rated at 6000 lbs towing
w/ less power/torque and a weaker frame.
[With the Canyon] GM simply softened up the rear suspension
and lowered the tow rating for ride comfort as they figured most
customers towing over 4,000 lbs often were doing such in a full-size.

capacity to 4,000 lb (1,814 kg) only by softening spring rates
without trimming back the frame weight (strength)?
I haven't been paying attention but this just seems out of character.
Edit: correct towing cap. from 3,900 to 3,990 (call it 4,000)
.

Got a deflecta shield bed box ordered last night and am dropping it off tomorrow for the rhino liner.
Next up is a B&M auxillary trans cooler to tap in after the factory one and then a 7 pin upgrade w/ trailer brake controller.

Advanced... went in there last night to get a better magnet tool to try and get the bolt out of my frame rail (from a semi-botched trailer hitch removal from the Z06). Ended up looking at the bed boxes b/c I knew I was going to buy on in the next week or so.
They had the exact one for my truck (had to be ordered). I wanted something big as bed space isn't a huge concern... this box is a deep well box and over the rail so it has more space than the low pro ones or the short well boxes. It cam in today and I'm getting it after work.
I want to be able to put my jack, stands, tools, and spare parts in it... put my spare wheels in the bed of the truck, then tow. If I don't have enough storage I can always get a toung box when I get a trailer

^ No worries... I'm confident this "little" truck will do fine towing around my 5000 lbs of junk w/ the right mods.
I'm sure it'd do fine w/ only air springs, but I'm addin the trailer brake controller, trans cooler and load distributing hitch to make it that much better.

I'm thinking about one like this; it's even cheaper with a wood surface...
