Which racing seats fit a stock C5Z06?
I learned the hard way that a Recaro Profi SPG XL does not fit a stock C5Z06. Can you please tell me which driver's seats do fit?
Thanks. Jason

Sparco Evo----
if I get someone one day to buy these from me. Then when I have a few$$$ I might spring for the Carbon ones----6 lbs each seat, saved oved fiberglass---
but of course that's stupid money for 6 lbs each seat

[QUOTE=AU N EGL;1561481470]+1 for UltraShield here
Kirky, Sparko Evo and Evo II
I have an Ultrashield also and it holds much snugger than the Sparco's Corbeau's, etc.. It is an aluminum frame seat. there is very little padding so that you really feel one with the car. (I do have a pad for longer trips) I looked for a couple yeras until I sat in the Ultra and then bought it

I have the Ultrashield 20 in my car but if I had it to do over again I would get the 10 so I was sitting up better. The 20 degree layback is too much for me as I have the seat rotated to the rear so the sides hold my legs in place.

My drivers seat is 20* but my passenger seat is a 10* I like the 20* better and still have it rotated to fit my legs.
The best thing I like about the Ultra-shields are the rib bolsters and how they hold you in place.
I agree with the above about the Sparko's. Corbeau's and the worst was a Recro. fancy name, no side support. Felt like I would slide out of the seat if got hit sideways. These seats were just too wide for me.
Some of you guys know I backed into a wall on T5 at Road Atlanta a few years ago. My choice was into traffic or slide into the wall to slow down. I decided the wall was safer then traffic. My Ultra-Shield held me in place and I believe protected me from any injury.
My seat is extremely snug. So tight that if I ware jeans it is too tight. But with my suit on or very light wt cotton Kakies pants it is perfect.
So IMHO Kirky, Ultra-Shield or a custom made ButlerBuilt are the only seats to consider for s dedicated track car.
For an occasional track car, the Kirky or Ultra-shield can be mounted initially, then changed with the stock seat with 20 mins.

Unfortunatly for me I have to wait on getting a seat. Training for a mini triathlon and I am losing weight quickly so I do not want to buy something that will be too big in 3 months.
Of course I could just put in a smaller seat and say I am not driving until I can fit in it. Now that would be incentive.

Gary how wide can a seat be? I see the ultra goes to 18inch - would that still fit in a c5?

I have a Kirkey in mine. I know Corbeau will work, as I've seen them in C5s. The hitch you will run into is the seatbelt reel outboard. It's just in the wrong place to work with a racing seat. Most dedicated track cars remove it or change the mount and trim radically. The C6 doesn't have this issue.

BTW- The plan right now is to gut 3 vettes. Not sure how light we can get them, but everything that is not track related is going. Oh yeah we are putting 402s in them too
