New TA2 Camaro Build!
#42
boy this thing got destroyed today!
body took some serious damage, they were hammering on the front frame area with the busted nose off of it when i went by your pit.
pass door had a piece cracked out of it too
it looked so sad and old, so weird, knowing it was a brand new car just hours earlier!
the black mustang i believe it hit had the whole rear bumper ripped off and rear bumper bar was smashed like a pretzel.

Just cosmetic...looks worse than it is...I've got spare body panels...podium takes the sting away!! We want to tweak the wrap anyway...the main takeaway is that this was a BRAND NEW car, never on track before this weekend and it went from P18 to P3!!!!
The whole front clip is designed to be replaced easily.

awesome run! they didnt have the position towers running so i didnt realize you guys had moved up so much!
thats amazing! most folks just hope a brand new car even finishes the first race. ie shake down gremlins. let alone a podium spot!
were you able to use old setup data from the old car to set this one up, or how does that work? does the builder give you some base setup to start with. how does all that work?

The TRB team had input from the chassis builder along with their own experience from other builds. It would've been beneficial to have another test session or two as there were some teething issues that took up track time. Having a hot shoe in the car combined with his feedback and data really made a difference for the team to get the car optimized in as quick a way as possible...

Going retro...old school...will keep it "under wraps" until it is done...
We *really* like the current wrap but after seeing it at speed and on video we'd like to go a different direction and pay homage to my first race Camaro, #13...also going with a different number due to conflict when ALL of the Trans Am groups are put together (i.e. - Daytona).

Only bad thing about the video...that last 15-20 minutes, probably some of the BEST parts...are missing....SD Card FULL....too much resolution and not enough SD card...solved for future races LOL! There would've been some prime-time TV right there!!
