Default C1 clock question?

Is the clock in the C1 the same type as in the C2/C3s, meaning it runs using a relay to 'kick' the spring loaded mechanism every 10-20 seconds?

The answer is no and yes....NO to the same movement but yes they do all work the same,
53-7 use the same movement(movement is quite a bit louder"Tick Tock"

58-62 uses the same movement its a flater and bigger around movement.(its a two part movement one part being the gears and the other being the winder)

63-67-small movement about the diameter of a silver dollar ...you can see if the difference if you line these up technology actually helped in making them smaller. This movement does use a slightly different style of reseting it uses a small coil with an arm and another arm with a silver point that touch each other and then "reset".

The 68+ Corvettes are basically the same as the 63-67 but use a different gear and have some modern parts in them.

But they all have a solenoid based system to rewind themselves.
I would also like to add and I see this talked about alot from do it yourselfers that open the midyear clocks up spray some oil on them to get them going and think that if they play with the movement it will start to keep perfect time...one they never kept perfect time they're a mechanical movement and they had a "self adjusting feature" that people mess with all the time, you know the "if its fast 10 minutes move it back and eventually it will fix itself"...that feature never worked.

Thx for the reply!

I may try to fix it myself since I'm familiar with the ones on C2s and C3s.

It's a 60. My others are a 65 and 69. Thanks for offering your help; I may need it when I see what I have to work with.

Hopefully, it won't look as bad as Rob's pic above.
