Default headlight motor question

The left headlight motor will not come up unless a little gentle persuasion is given. It goes down fine. Can I remove the motor thru the engine compartment or do I have to remove the headligt bucket?

By feel. Nowhere left out the "by feel" part cause you can't see them. Make sure you have an AIM or a Doc Rebuild Catalog with pictures so you know what your fingers are telling you. Note that there is a ground wire screwed into the body of the motor that you need to disconnect also. Search the forum for the instructions on how to rebuild the motor. I've seen them come up four or five times. The instructions are great (great="has pictures") and you wind up with a good motor to boot.

Having a telescoping mirror with a flexible head and a light is a must when doing this

You should also put a bolt thru the hole in the hood support to insure that it can't drop while you've got your hands down there.

Have a buddy hold the hood up so the hood support is fully extended. This will give you a few extra precious inches and helps alot in pulling the motors out. dave
