Any of the Epoxy adhesives will be much stronger than the Polyester based "Corvette" bonding adhesives. 3M, Duramix, and Lord Fusor to name a few. They are waaaay more expensive, but very nice to work with since the set times are relatively controlled. All require the use of a special applicator gun which at least the supply store I deal with will gladly loan you with the purchase of any of these products.

I have been using 3M Automix 8115 exclusively to put my frankenvette back together. It has pleny of "play time" and dries hard as a rock but is quite sandable. I also use it to fill the screw holes left behind, it won't shrink when it dries. Here's the new rear valance panel I just recently did before I sanded it:

Islander, how do you finish off the seams? Do you glass over them, or do you gelcoat or what? I am thinking of trying this product and appreciate any feedback.

Once I'm done sanding the seams down a bit I will build/glass them in. Being that I have the valance panels, a driver's side rear quarter panel and a new nose going on I will gelcoat the entire car (3 coats) once I'm done with the repairs. Other folks may use Kitty Hair or some other filler to finish the seams - different strokes for different folks.

I think that you will need to use epoxy resin to glass your seams in order to get a good bond to the 3M adhesive. I think the epoxy resin will also do a better job and shrink less too.

I use Polyguard Hi-Bond epoxy resin. So far, so good.
