Retirement
I just got in from signing my last papers, turning in my keys, and running my ID badge through a shreader.
Monday I will do what I want to do.

Congratulations! You'll love it - I retired six years ago after 38 years in the toughest part of the automobile industry (Manufacturing and Assembly), and I've never looked back since.

I did it a year ago, from automotive. I thought I'd miss it. Never happened. Now I don't know how I found time to work!
Congrats, and enjoy

Congratulations and enjoy your retirement. My date is March 7, 2008 (I'll be 60). I think about it almost every day.

66BBDriver,
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!
I did this technically 7 months ago. Was in the automotive industry as a supplier to the "Big 3" and many others. Like JohnZ, I have never looked back.
Everyday is a weekend!!!!!!
Enjoy!!!!!

I stopped when I stopped having fun at work. Life is too short. Every year you work and don't enjoy it, is a year you don't play. We are trading them one for one, because there is a finite end on this deal.
And that's all the philosophy I can handle for one day!

Congratulations. I'm envious but soon for me also (I'm just lining stuff up now and moving to someplace that has a dragstrip close).

Congratulations from me too.
I retired as of Janary first and love the freedom - after 45 years straight of full time employment.

My sincerest congratulations to you! In my early 40s I established a Freedom 55 plan. Through some modest but prudent investments I achieved my goal. I am not rich but not lacking anything in life other than unnecessary frills. Enjoy and be well!

Absolute truth! I don't know how I got anything done while I was working.
Every day is a Saturday.
